ABOUT

A-Z Band Photo

A-Z returns to the music scene unleashing a new volume of inspired rock and roll. The memorable choruses, world-class musicianship and complete album artwork experience provide the perfect confluence for what rock music was meant be.

Anchored by prog rock legends Ray Alder (Fates Warning) and Mark Zonder (Warlord, Fates Warning), A-Z boasts the talents of Philip Bynoe (Steve Vai), Nick van Dyk (Redemption), Jimmy Waldo (Alcatrazz) and Simone Mularoni (DGM). The hooks, melodies and thoughtful solos provide the ideal meeting ground for anyone who has enjoyed rock music from the 1970s to present day.

Ray Alder

Ray Alder

Ray Alder has been the voice of Fates Warning since 1988's "No Exit" album, where he established himself as a powerful and versatile heavy metal vocalist. Alder and drummer Mark Zonder first teamed up for Fates Warning's "Perfect Symmetry" album in 1989, and they worked together in the band for the next 15 years. Outside of A-Z, Alder has also been enjoying a successful solo career with his two records "What The Water Wants" (2019) and "II" (2023).

Mark Zonder

Mark Zonder is widely regarded as one the most influential and technically proficient prog rock drummers on the planet. While his creative playing has been recorded in almost every genre of music, none have been more historically significant than his work in Warlord and Fates Warning where he is considered a pioneer in the evolution of progressive metal. Zonder began creating music for A-Z in early 2020 and would eventually play drums on and produce the band's highly successful self-titled debut album in 2022.
